Sounder Commuter Rail - D-M Street update

    For the period of Jan. 26-Feb. 16,

     D-to-M Streets construction news you can use:

    • Workers will be drilling and placing concrete for the future B Street gully bridge to support the commuter rail track.
    • Paving of the Pacific Avenue corridor continues with placement of concrete at the intersection at Pacific Avenue and South Tacoma Way.
    • Crews are finishing wall construction in the downtown corridor and installing railing on top of walls.
    • Work on the Pacific Avenue bridge continues in preparation for placement of the deck.
    • South C Street is temporarily closed for roadway and street improvements. Crews will begin roadway excavation and working on underground utilities. A dedicated pedestrian path along South C Street is in place during this closure.
    • Crews are installing storm and sewer pipe, excavating and constructing walls along the track corridor from Pacific Avenue to M Street. Traffic control will be in place on South Tacoma Way during this work.
    • The temporary closure of Pacific Avenue, which began in June for 11 months, is in place. Find information and detour maps online on our D-M Street project page.
